MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY. It’s like exploring a new world. The things we will see here are not seen by our eyes in daily life.
Macro photography is so interesting, that you could get addicted to this!! In lens reversing, you will have to connect the lens reversely to the camera body. In this technique, you will have no control over auto focusing and aperture. Focusing can be done manually but aperture has to be set before reversing. As we go extreme close, the DOF will become very shallow. So the aperture of f8, f11 or f16 is better options, to get broader DOF. As direct light from flash will be too hard, a soft focus should be used. If you do not have one you can make one very easily using tissue paper.
If you have all the setup done, you will be amazed by the results!! It’s very fun and the images will be so interesting & great. |
Today we will see extreme macro photos. For this technique one should have a dedicated macro lens Or a lens reversal adapter will work. By lens reversing, we can have +20 mag with a simple 18-55 kit. Due to the shallow DOF it’s very difficult to focus on subjects hand held. So a tripod is very helpful. But many times shooting insects, which keep on moving, we have to keep camera hand held. For that if the shutter speed is slow, you can have blur images. To avoid this problem, use flash, so the shutter speed can be kept high. |
